Oh, my goodness. I can hardly believe this.
If you read my story yesterday, you will remember I was facing an extra-long day of travel between Spain and home, feeling weak, physically and emotionally, and I wrote:
I go, remembering: I am known and loved.
I go, expecting: God will help me, strengthen me, and comfort me.
And I go, wondering: Maybe God has another Valentine surprise planned for me.
Just maybe.
And He did! Oh, my goodness, He did.
I am writing this, sitting in a beautiful hotel room in Philadelphia. My long transatlantic Valentine’s Day flight was near-empty, therefore, quiet and actually restful.
And it was favorably-to-me one hour delayed.
Disembarking in Philly, an American Airlines agent handed me new boarding passes for my last two flights (rescheduled for today) and vouchers for this overnight stay.
I was flat-out asleep in a luxurious bed an hour later. And woke up at 2 a.m. (8 a.m. in Spain) to a hot bath and clean clothes.
Honestly, I can hardly believe my good fortune, this restorative buffer between the two worlds, this special gift from God.
Not only did He help me, strengthen me, and comfort me all day yesterday, He planned a great surprise.
Oh, my goodness. I kinda feel like crying.
In my reading this morning I found: “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” Luke 1:45
Today that blessed woman is me.
That’s so encouraging for me to read, Sarah!
